Complimentary Ticket Policy

Op6.02 Great Southern Bank Arena Complimentary and Reduced Basketball Season Ticket Policy

The following policy is applicable to Bears and Lady Bears basketball season tickets.

Complimentary tickets

A number of employees, primarily athletics department employees and particularly coaches, receive complimentary (ticket price waived) season tickets to Bears and Lady Bears basketball games. The list of complimentary tickets is approved each June by the Board of Governors. With few exceptions, in Great Southern Bank Arena Arena these complimentary seats will be provided primarily in the top five rows of the lower bowl and/or the first ten rows of the upper bowl. The annual seat assessment will also be waived for all complimentary tickets.

Current and emeriti faculty and staff

Current and emeriti faculty and staff will be responsible for paying the full seat assessment, which will vary depending on location. The season tickets will continue to be offered at half price.

Past Presidents of the University

Past University Presidents will be provided two complimentary tickets in the lower bowl, with the seat assessment also waived for both tickets. Should Past Presidents wish to purchase additional seats, they will be expected to pay the full seat assessments, and half price for the tickets.

Current and past members of the University’s Board of Governors/Regents

Effective July 1, 2007, Missouri State University will implement the following policy for providing Bears and Lady Bears season tickets to current and past members of the Boards of Governors and Regents:

Future Board members (after July 1, 2007)

Those Board members who expect to use them on a regular basis will be provided two season tickets to both the Bears and Lady Bears basketball games. The annual seat assessment will be waived and the tickets will be complimentary for the two seats. The two seats will be in the lower bowl, with the exact location based on availability annually.

If Board members wish to select the specific location of their two seats, they will be required to pay the full seat assessment for the desired location. If Board members wish to have more than two seats, no matter the location, they will be required to pay the full seat assessment and the full ticket price for all additional seats.

Board members who expect to attend only occasionally may request two complimentary tickets on a game-by-game basis, seat assessment waived, with the specific seat assignment based on availability, but every effort will be made for the seats to be in the lower bowl.

When their term expires, Board members will be given the first opportunity to pay the full annual seat assessment and full ticket price for the seats they have or any others available in the Arena. No complimentary tickets will be provided.

Current and past Board members (as of June 30, 2007)

Board members appointed prior to July 1, 2007, will be provided two complimentary season tickets for both the Bears and Lady Bears basketball games. (As a courtesy and in order to maximize revenue, however, Board members who expect to attend only occasionally are asked to request two complimentary tickets on a game-by-game basis rather than accept season tickets.) The seat assessment will be waived and the tickets will be complimentary for those two tickets. (The University, however, welcomes voluntary payment of the assessment and ticket price to support the athletics program.)

The exact location of the two seats will be assigned annually based on availability.

If Board members wish to select the specific location of their two seats, they will be required to pay the full seat assessment for the desired location.

If Board members wish to have more than two seats, no matter the location, they will be required to pay the full seat assessment and the full ticket price for all additional seats.

Additional note

In order to optimize revenue, Board members are asked not to resell season tickets they do not expect to use. Instead, Board members who expect to attend only occasionally are asked to request two tickets on a game-by-game basis.
